Kabardian is a North-West Caucasian language that due to its polysynthetic nature uses lexical pronouns quite rarely. In this talk, I will argue that Kabardian lacks dedicated lexical reflexives and intensifiers and uses personal pronouns instead. I will provide the data, collected during my field work, that proves that personal pronouns are allowed to function as reflexives (violating condition B) in contexts where a reflexive verbal prefix cannot appear. I will also show that personal pronouns can be interpreted as intensifiers, however in this case I will propose a hypothesis about the appositive nature of such constructions.
