+The aim of this glossary is to ensure that the students, staff, and admins at ELTE (especially those of the Faculty of Humanities) will render the Hungarian academic terminology consistently and unequivocally in their English language correspondence, publications and translations. Therefore the glossary also serves as a lists of recommended translation equivalents, and offers a British English or European translation first. The equivalents provided in square brackets are also correct, but the use of synonyms is to be avoided so that a Hungarian term will be consistently translated with the same English term. The glossary does not aim to provide for the Hungarian terms all the possible English equivalents, which vary from country to country.
