description & set texts
This class is aimed at sharpening students' academic writing skills and preparing students to write a thesis. To that end, students can expect to practice argumentative and descriptive writing, research, and proper MLA formatting. Class time will be devoted to assessing and critiquing examples of academic writing and practicing shorter written exercises.

requirements & assessment
Grading will be based on two major essays, class participation, and shorter written exercises.
