This course will explore the rise of the conservative movement in American politics from its post-World War Two origins to Donald Trump and the 2024 elections.

requirements & assessment
Grading will be based on class participation, a written exam, and a short essay on one feature of conservatism in American politics. Expect to read and analyze primary sources (speeches, campaign advertisements, magazine articles) and discuss them with your fellow students in class.
