description & set texts
An introduction to American culture through the lens of classic and contemporary short stories from the 19th century to the present day. Expect to read and discuss several short stories in class while examining their broader cultural, social, and historical context. Students will also sharpen their writing skills by completing several shorter creative writing assignments.
