This is an introductory course on several key political, religious, and social themes in American culture from an outside perspective. Students will examine these themes through the lens of important historical events, pop culture, American fiction and non-fiction, and other relevant material.
requirements & assessment
Student assessment will be based on participation in class discussions, a classroom presentation on an important cultural event, theme, or artefact, and an end-of-semester exam. Participation and classroom attendance are very important for this class.
