Course Goals: The goal of this course is to develop your knowledge of British culture. It is intended to help
you better understand British society. However, it is also meant to help you expand your own perspective
of the UK.
Course Description: This course will cover various topics including film, literature, contemporary events,
core values, society, sport, places of interest, music, etc. Class sessions will include activities which
require active participation.

Course Requirements:
Regular class attendance is expected. You are expected to come to class prepared to participate in activities
and discussion about topic. There will be homework assigned to be completed before class. This may
include readings, videos, etc. For each assignment specific instructions will be given to help prepare you
for the lesson on that topic. The more you prepare at home, the better our time will be together in class!
Always feel free to bring your questions or suggestions for future course topics.
Assessment:
Weekly Assignments and Participation: 25%
Final essay: 60%
Quiz: 15%
