1. Irina Burukina, Marcel den Dikken, Miklós Törkenczy, and Yue Xing have excused themselves. The meeting starts in hybrid mode, but nobody joins online in the first five minutes. It is worth considering if future meetings should be held online only.
2. The new doctoral students and the new teaching assistants briefly introduce themselves.
3. Szigetvári talks about the uncertainty of the term, we do not yet know when the campus closes down (this depends on the weather), and whether all exams must be online.
4. Szigetvári reports that the phonologists of the department (G. Kiss, Starčević, Szigetvári, Törkenczy), two other colleagues from ELTE (Zsuzsanna Bárkányi, Bálint Huszthy), a colleague from Pázmány (Katalin Balogné Bérces), and a doctoral student (Őri) have won an NKIFH (OTKA) grant. This enables the department to hire Őri in the following four years.
5. The department discusses the description of the job to be advertised to fill in the post vacated by Lázár’s retirement. The post will not be specified as one with a phonology or syntax specialization.
6. The deadline for submitting papers to The Even Yearbook is Friday. As always late submissions are accepted. We are trying to acquire a DOI for the papers which requires DOIs for references in the papers submitted.
7. The sixth Össznyelvész (AllLinguists) conference is due to happen in December. Őri and Shbeeb will be in charge of the organization with Luca Garai serving as an adviser.
8. G. Kiss urges everyone to encourage students to submit papers or theses to OTDK scheduled for next spring. The local hearings must be completed by December.
