This is a programme within the Doctoral School in Linguistic Sciences of Eötvös Loránd University, hosted by the English Linguistics Department of the University.

We are expecting the application of people with a university degree (equivalent to an MA) in English, with an interest in current linguistic theory as applied to the description of English or the history or dialectology of English, and with a determination to carry out some linguistic research in English phonology, syntax, or language history.
