The Even Yearbook 2 (1996)
editorial note
Two years after the publication of our first Even Yearbook it is a pleasure to introduce the second volume of the series: The Even Yearbook 2 (1996). Like the first, this volume is also a collection of working papers by members of the English Linguistics Department of the School of English and American Studies at Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE). The book contains carefully selected papers on language history (Cser, Farkas), lexicography (Lázár), syntactic theory (Newson), and current phonological issues (Siptár, Szigetvári, Varga).
When launching this new volume, we must express our gratitude to an anonymous external reviewer for selecting the papers and giving a great deal of precious advice; and also to Péter Szigetvári for doing the technical editing and computer printing so excellently again; and last but not least to the FEFA fund, without whose financial support this volume would never have been published.
We hope that with this second volume we have managed to establish The Even Yearbook as a regular serial publication of a high scholarly standard, with many more volumes to come.
