The Even Yearbook 3 (1998)
editorial note
This volume, The Even Yearbook 3 (1998), is the third in a series of biennials that we have published in every even-numbered year since 1994. The volume contains papers written by members (or former members) of the English Linguistics Department of the Eötvös Loránd University (Cser, Lázár, Marosán, Nádasdy, Newson, Siptár, Szigetvári, Varga); and, for the first time, it also contains papers by students of the recently established PhD programme in English Linguistics (Antonyi, Gráf, Kormos, Tóth, Wenszky). Most contributions deal with aspects of English, some of the phonology articles, however, concentrate on issues of Hungarian in some current theoretical framework.
Our special thanks are due to an anonymous external reviewer for reading and helping to select the papers, and to Péter Szigetvári, for the expertise and heroism he has again shown in the technical editing and computer-printing of the volume.
The publication was made possible by a grant from the Hungarian Ministry of Culture and Education (MKM K+F 93/96).
