topic 0: why study typography
Typography is all over the place, however, you do not notice it unless you are interested, pay attention, and know what to look for. Good typography not only makes texts look nicer and more professional, but also enhances their readability and legibility.
Since most students of English will be producing their own texts and dealing with texts others have produced, you will probably need some basic knowledge of typography throughout your career. This is what the present course aims to provide you with.
